KUANTAN: The Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB) has yet to receive a pre-operation licence application from Lynas Corporation.
Its director-general Raja Datuk Abdul Aziz Raja Adnan said the board had only issued a site and construction licence to Lynas, which is building a rare earth refinery in Gebeng near here.
?The board did not receive any application from them. We will not even consider granting the licence if the application is not complete,? he said yesterday.
Raja Abdul Aziz said that once AELB received the documents, it would put together a committee of experts to conduct a six-month assessment on all aspects of the plant, especially safety.
