The second chart, I think, is simply a reflection of the equity of each group in home ownership.
The first chart might be getting closer to what I was interested in, which was how much they were spending.
Of course the older age groups overall have little incentive to save, so they would spend a larger proportion of income. But on what? How is it allocated? There may not be figures on that.
