    Nah, not likely IMO.

Firstly, any Co. bringing out biometrics to commercial end user products (eg. laptops) right now will be relying on what the best tech is currently available and acceptable in the market place - iris, face, fingerprint etc.

WBT tech is not commercially available as yet(!) and I believe is potentially better than those 3 put together.

Secondly, the interesting comment in the article is their own admittance that biometric signatures are not particularly secure (eg, iris, fingerprint etc) as have been proven to be hackable as discussed in previous threads.

They will only allow the biometric to unlock the actual device not authenticate over the network - again, WBT tech provides for potentially a one time pin each time negating the security issue as highlighted by MS itself.

The main diff is Win 10 with biometric option is a bit gimmicky but also a good step in conditioning consumers into using various biometrics IMO and just paves the way for tech like NXR/WBT.

    All good
