That plan is wireless, but on the old ev-do / cdma system which will be obselete soon, telstra will supply a new modem for customers when that happens. The plan you highlighted is at 256k, dial up speed but better than nothing. I did a couple of download speed checks with my phone as a modem and best i got was 940kbs.
Just for those interested, the only problem with the phone as modem is that the battery only lasts a few hours so need to take break at lunchtime.
The good news for me is, telstra called and said they have made a mistake and all will be fixed.
Despite my negative experience, next G does look like being great at some future time LOL
