The move to block specific chemicals impacts the broad spectrum discussion. This is more significant than just taking a few chemicals off the market that can simply be replaced by another chemical.
It seems we are not far away from the only option to achieve full UVA/UVB broad spectrum protection will be via zinc oxide. It's as good as banning all chemicals. Nobody wants a sunscreen that doesn't protect you from all UV damage.
A momentous shift is happening. There is no downside to zinc. Imagine when it is the only option for sunscreens and other skincare products wanting SPF.
