Err . . really? I don't want to go there, so I'll take your word for it.
What worries me a little bit about this thread is who on earth would want Hawke's imprimatur, who cares what the burnt-out Silver Bodgie thinks? Blanche, maybe, no one else these days, surely.
As a matter of fact, I would also back Julia for the leadership, I don't think it is good for the country to go on with the encumbent, but I don't expect anyone to follow my advice and, as a dyed-in-the-wool old-fashioned Tory, I won't have any part in her eventual elevation.
My only point is that for the good of the country we should have the best available talent at the helm - I think it's pretty clear that that isn't happening, at the moment.
