Incase any one has missed the headlines, it has been reported that the Defense Minister Kevin Andrews had visited Bendigo in late July 2015. The minister was questioned on when the Hawkei project will be awarded but only confirmed that the decision was still months away but the testing of the vehicle was still in progress by the Australia Defence Force.
In a seperate media article, it has been stated that the design activity is underway by QHL for the preparation of the carbon composite parts to the Hawkei vehicle for a pilot build of the Hawkei in late 2015, with production to commence in early 2016.
My guess is that the design activity has been concluded by QHL, as the ADF will not be testing the vehicle otherwise in its full configuration.
As has been mentioned by various contributing authors on HC, the award of the Hawkei project is now only subject to government approval and the finalisation of the Defence white paper.
