I don't think the report is wide ranging enough from what I have read. I have a number of friends who played at senior AFL level and they have all mentioned how the clubs they played at were involved in many aspects of their lives. They were very controlling. Most saw this as a good thing as they said it helped them stay on track with all of the distractions and fame of being an AFL footballer. None mentioned anything as serious as this. If these allegations are correct it is truly disgusting and all parties need to be "dealt with" but is this contained to just indigenous footballers or is this something that is happening to all young footballers? The report needs to be widened to include all players and potentially all clubs so we can see if it is a racism based issue or a systemic issue. EIther is disgusting, but we need to understand the extent, rather than mislabel this behaviour. That may be something the AFL need to do.
