Sydney - Tuesday - September 2: (RWE Aust Business News) -
Hazelwood's (ASX:HAZ) Big Hill tungsten deposit, Cookes Creek, has
revealed extensive
coarse grained scheelite mineralisation at depth.
Visual observation of the newly drilled diamond core holes with
an ultraviolet lamp shows extensive quartz-scheelite veining within the
mineralised sequence.
Assays are pending.
The coarse grained nature of the mineralisation is considered a
competitive advantage of the Big Hill deposit.
The shallow dipping geometry of the host sequence is also
considered an advantage, with mineralisation accessible from surface.
A second diamond core rig is scheduled to commence in the next
few days to expedite the drilling program.
The Cookes Creek tungsten project has already produced high
quality tungsten concentrates, utilising full sized commercial equipment,
with excellent processing characteristics.
