Surely buying renewable energy of the grid for present stage of testing Whilst being more expensive, giving the ability to clearly state that it is carbon negative would be useful at this point. Agree that biogas is already in the system and at the moment all use cases release carbon to the environment, so it has every right to use carbon negative if using renewable electricity to produce. Mind you carbon neutral using natural gas is not a shabby claim either.
Also what percentage of produced hydrogen would be required to run the operation? Are we better using solar and wind to power and just shipping hydrogen which may have a premium?
