with respect dynami, I don't see what age has to do with it. We are all newbies at everything at some stage of life, be that at 20, 30, 40.....
I think the advantages of a semi-anonymous forum is that you can paticipate sensibly without any fear of prejudices.
I don't think cliques within forums are a good idea - but that's my opinion.
