hcf ends promotional partnership with quickfli

Health insurer HCF Ltd has ceased its promotional partnership with Quickflix in the wake of a large of a series of customer complaints regarding the video company's sign-up practices, The Australian reports.

According to the newspaper, Danny Saksida, HCF's head of sales and marketing, said a Netflix promotion that invited members to trial its services for free was "unsatisfactory".

The move comes following speculation surrounding Netflix's actual subscriber numbers and as the group continues to struggle with financial challenges and a boardroom shake-up that saw chief executive Chris Taylor and former head of media at Telstra Justin Milne depart.

The Australian reports HCF had expressed concern over Netflix's methods of retaining HCF members as customers beyond the free trial - most notably the removal of customers' ability to cancel their subscriptions online.
