Look the USA is already in recession it's had the last 3 quarters in the negative. Recessions come an go. What interests me is the supply and demand and the overvalued USD. Once it collapses precious and semi precious metals and metal commodities do very well. Could I be wrong ? Sure. But keep in mind that companies still do big business even in a recession.
