Parliamentary enquiry questions of the WA desalination plant....
Production costs of desalinated water is approximately $1/kilolitre. Retail costs which includes OPEX, return on equity and margins etc was quoted between $2-3/kilolitre.
This is pretty consistent with what we pay for water in most metro cities.
