Hardman Resources Ltd (“Hardman”) is pleased to advise that the drilling rig Deepwater
Discovq is now expected to arrive in Mauritania between 26 and 28 July 2002. The rig is
currently drilling awell for Shell in offshore Nigeria and is to be released earlier than
expected for immediate mobilisation to Mauritania.
Upon arrival the rig willcommence drilling the first well of the programme being the
Chinguetti 4-2 appraisal well. This well will be located on the northern (upthrown) flank of
the Chinguetti salt structure, approximately 2.5 kms north of the Chinguebi-l discovery well,
which was located on the downthrown fault block. This first appraisal well is considered to
be a significant step out &om the discovery well and will evaluate a geologically separate
portion ofthe prospect.
The 2002 Mauritania drilling campaign will comprise the drilling of between 3 to 5 wells as
follows:
Chinguetti 4-2 appraisal well (PSC Area B - Hardman equity 21.6%) - FIRM
Banda Exploration Prospect (PSC Area A - Hardman equity 24.3%) - FII(M
m Chinguetti 4-3 appraisal well (PSC Area B - Hardman equity 21.6%)

0 Tiof Exploration Prospect (PSC Area B - Hardman equity 21.6%) - CONTINGENT on
m Thon Exploration Prospect (PSC Block 6 - Bardman equity 35.5%) -FIRM
on the drilling andor testing results of Chinguetti 4-2.
securing additional drilling slot and joint venture approval.

The revised 2002 drilling programme has yet to be formally approved by joint venture
participants who will be meeting during the week commencing 22 July 2002. As announced
previously in December 2001, the joint venture has approved two firm wells and two
contingent wells. Further details of the drilling programme,well schedule and prospect
details will be announced following the joint venture meetings.

I wonder how long after the meeting beginning the 22nd before we will know the drilling dates??
