Even if they don't go ahead with the super-super-super-pit plan for OD, they will still be looking for electricity. If BHP can slip its carbon footprint off and use geothermal, it will do that in order to enter carbon trading schemes and become a great green giant. OD has a mine life of a hundred years or so either way - if GRK can power its mill infrastructure wo cares if it becomes a giant gravel pit enroute to China?
