Plans for a geothermal power plant in south-east South Australia could be advanced after the takeover of an exploration company.
For the past three years, Scope Energy has been exploring the region to find areas of high underground heat which could be used to generate electricity.
Yesterday, the company sold the Limestone Coast Geothermal Project to Sydney-based uranium explorer Uranoz Limited.
The incoming managing director of Uranoz, Dr Bertus de Graaf, says he hopes to take the early research done to the next level and start drilling.
