Yes, it’s a good business with significant economies of scale starting to be realised. Theoretically they can currently support sales of approx $35m pa (with very attractive net profit margins) and aim to increase capacity to support $200m by 2030.
They have good i.p. in the business and the fresh water pond system produces a far tastier fish. It’s a shame COVID got in the way because the early take up in export markets was exceeding expectations. Notwithstanding, fish sales increased 25% over 2019. I don’t think that included the new smoked product they developed so theirs another revenue stream to exploit when restrictions ease.
And of course the macro environment is producing significant tail winds for acquaculture.
Biggest frustration is poor news flow and transparency. Hopefully increased broker coverage will improve things.
