It's a threat alright. Even if it doesn't work as well as Trofinetide, if it is an option in the market then it creates a competitive market environment rather than monopoly treatment. This may then impact the asking price that Acadia can get for treatment if GW's drug is cheaper. The Rett community will go from 'unmet need' to having treatment options! Good for them, not so good for revenue.
Having said that I think Acadia know their stuff from a marketing perspective and the way they are engaging and supporting the Rett community will only help promote Trofinetide should P3 go well.
It all rides on P3!
