If I had to guess, no one will commit to a position on the banks until the royal commission report is handed down on Feb 1. Commissioner Hayne has said that it may be helpful to reduce the burden of regulation and complexity on the banks, but also the market is wary of what reparations and fines need to be paid etc. I cant see a rally until the report is released, will probably hover around this price until then.
