they won't maintain that growth (that's the point) nor earnings , shorting is simply investing in over valuations , going long is simply investing in under valuations . I invest both ways , this idea is that it's a loyalty test between shorts and longs is simply meaningless . Even if you do favour a "long only " strategy surely it's a good idea to hedge positions so if things do go against your position you've locked in profits ? This idea that you talk up or put down a stock is meaningless , the stock price doesn't care what we have to say
