Good post ..... except : if there is a change of Federal Government, then franking will be stolen by the new Gov't from our future dividends ! (from next Fin Year onwards).
The Oppositions policy diminishes the wonderful investment strategy of accumulating Blue Chip shares (buying in dips) and re-investing Franked Income.
This impacts all of us who are trying to save to pay for our own Super, or invest for better days.
I would warn those who want to start accumulating WBC or other blue chips, for the long term (which I have been doing for the past 6 years), to consider what may happen to your returns, and keep some powder dry for 9 months or so to see what happens. The changes, if ratified, will impact your rate of return. Just saying... just something to think about.
