Murray's advice absolutely was NOT to keep the current directors. His intention was - and still is - "board renewal" - i.e. removing current board members and replacing them with new talent. But his advice was to implement this change carefully, in the interests of maintaining stability.
"I am committed to meaningful board renewal but recognise the process must be measured so as to maintain the stability of AMP in the immediate future.."
