NEXTDC Limited and Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon.com company and the world's leading cloud computing provider, today announced that NEXTDC’s C1 Canberra data centre will be the newest data centre hosting location for AWS Direct Connect, providing low-latency, secure access directly to the AWS cloud.
The announcement is a first in the Canberra market, and will enable Federal government and other organisations to take full advantage of AWS to deliver applications and digital services to Australians – at scale in a highly secure environment. C1 will also play a significant role in the growth of Cloud-based economic activity in regional Australia by enabling new business models and bringing innovation to the delivery of digital government services. C1 Canberra is the fourth AWS Direct Connect point of presence in Australia and the second outside Sydney, delivering important geo-redundancy for service durability.
