Macquarie in the Community

One of Australia’s oldest and largest corporate, foundations, the Macquarie Group Foundation, contributed $12.6 million to 500 community organisations in the year to 31 March 2007, up from $8.5 million the previous year.

In addition, Macquarie staff around the world raised $4.1 million for not-for-profit organisations, up from $2.7 million the previous year taking Macquarie’s total community contribution to $16.7 million. This figure does not include the many hours of time given by Macquarie staff as volunteers, mentors, pro bono service providers and members of not-for-profit boards and executive committees.

It is good to see this arrogant juggernaut brought back to planet earth though. It has certainly levelled a lot of the Mac Bank wankers who drink at a certain Bar in Sydney after work. not so arrogant and smug now! haha
