There is some doubt on the safety of long term effects in continued treatment with a BACE inhibitors. I believe Rudy Tanzi has spoken against them sometimes saying they risk longer term damage due to screwing around with proteins in the brain. But my understanding is there havent been significant problems seen in a few trials done to date..
( im no expert though, just an excited investor - so DYOR )
