I don't think they would buy it out right, more likely they would enter into a phase 3 trial funding deal with milestone payments for exclusive US commercial licensing rights.
But that in itself could be worth over $1b USD... and would push the share price up considerably.
So we await the DME results, as you say I don't think timing will have been unduly affected by Covid-19 restrictions.
