Hi Hotfire,
Epanko is one of the most remote areas in Tanzania surrounded by national parks and game reserves. The road to the site is not exactly a road. It dips, curves, bounces and crosses shaky wooden bridges over rivers and creeks. Very narrow and getting muddy when rain falls. I bet you that they do not carry teak wood or gem stone during long rainy season.
UNX will be trucking 200km from Nachu to port Mtwara. The last 40km is unsealed gravel road. We have to work on the sealed span that to make sure that it is passible all around the year. We have to pay the contractor $100 per ton. The one way journey takes around 4 hours.
You can work out the transport cost for KNL.
