Australia is full of bad practices - and scams, yes. But it's really all from a crook culture.

I look at all the business with NDIS - and the arguments about scams, overcharging and abuse etc.

ATM, in France - I'm watching a case where a bloke - about 50 years old. Lived by himself in an apartment and had - what is similar to a stroke (he'd had some kind of anomaly in his brain since birth and one day it might have popped).

so, let's call it a stroke - he had a stroke and now, months after being out of hospital and in a specialist physio place -------------- all under the normal medical and health system -
it's now found that he probably won't ever walk again, - and he's being shifted out of the physio place in a couple of months.

So, he's off to live with family in the family home (which he owns part of by French law on inheritance) and in a week or so - both a rep from the organisation and he are going to the family house - to see what his needs are -

and whatever he needs - ie. home renovations etc. transport etc - will be done and arranged before he leaves where he is and gets home -

all at the expense of the system. No fuss, no bother. And it's been in place for years.

No NDIS arguments, it's merely - perfectly normal.

And this is without having extra medical insurance.

All of these things are easy to dismiss - the 'I'm alright jack' and 'I'll look after myself' attitude ------------- works OK -

until - the poop hits the fan. No one is bullet proof. And when the poop hits the fan - one needs a solid social system around you ------------- it is the ONLY security one has. No amount of wealth can guarantee what a good social system can
