Heap leach, the X factor

Processing plant debottlenecked. Darlot mining increasingly good quantities. KOH ramping up well. Stockpile of 42,000 tonnes at 3.6 g/tonne on the deck at start of quarter. Expectations should be upper end of guidance, or better, this quarter. Looks like to me that the ore is blended to achieve a 3.6 g/tonne mix through the processing plant, or thereabouts. If this is so, then to get 23,000 oz this Q, they will need to process about 210,000 tonnes of ore. Very achievable with all the above.
My attention however is focused on the heap leach project at KOH. IMO this has the potential to give our gold production a significant boost. The X factor is how much low grade ore (grades down to 0.5 g/tonne or even lower) is contained in the pit shell. Using the >70% recovery achieved in the tests so far and an average grade of 1 g/tonne, for every 100,000 tonnes of ore processed in a heap leach plant we will recover about 2,250 oz of gold. If we have a significant quantity of low grade ore in the pit shell and with a typical heap leach plant able to process several millions tones of ore per year, KOH has the potential to becoming a major gold production unit in its own right.
All depends on the column tests being carried out at present.
My thoughts so don't use them for any investment decision.
