Well done Cunners - one of the most sensible summaries I have read over the last few days.
IMO this is all largely panic driven - selling by people who are afraid of being caught up in a crash - causing a "crash" by their actions.
Not the stock market - something is expensive - people think before buying - something is cheap - people buy.
In the stock market - stock is expensive - everyone wants to buy it - stock is cheap - everyone wants to sell.
Some will sell right at the bottom.
