there needs to be legislation to stop this kind of behaviour by politicians, it is just disgraceful
you cannot make a statement prior to an election to win votes.....get elected (sort of).....and then do the opposite of your election promise
do that in any other profession and you would be sacked, it would be considered unprofessional, you would be known to be unreliable, and potentially sued for your actions as well!
ahh but do it in politics and you are lauded as a visionary
