great event for charity that renowned fund mgrs give their best stock tips, long or short from around the world.
I normally take a punt on what I think are the best picks. Last year I liked Amazon and Docusign. Docusign was up 50% and came in 4th place overall.
The presenter from Tribeca was Ms Jun Bei Liu. She came 2nd last year with New Oriental Education & Technology Group, up 80%.
So I was bloody pleased to hear her stock tip for this year, a2!
she loves the fact 15m babies are born in China every year.
she sees the big prize in offline channel growth. If they can replicate the success to-date into retail stores they will triple sales.
strong balance sheet, they’ll have $700m in cash this time next year.
Only Australian cpy with licence to sell into physical stores.
lots of corporate activity in sector
adjusted for growth, she thinks it’s cheap.
so aside from the buzz the room felt when Darryl Braithwaite belted our a few tunes, its a bloody good feeling when a stock you own and followed for years gets validated by industry professionals.
