Hi Taurisk,
My house had a wood burning stove and it was fantastic for heating . House was two stories and when I ran it for 3+ hours it would heat both floors to the point I could wear shorts and a tshirt in the middle of winter.
However good quality wood was expensive, and the handling took a lot of effort. I used to trawl the streets for tree cuts people had done over summer to get the price down. Luckily it was pretty common, as the area I lived had a LOT of trees. Pellets may be even more expensive.
If I had more storage I would have bought maybe 2-3 tonnes of ironwood instead of 500kg lots, which blew the cost out.
