We have a wood burning stove as does my mother who is 86. We live on a farm with an abundance of old fence posts and trees for supplying firewood. If I had to buy firewood at current prices I would most likely go to gas heater which mother-in law has. One 45 kg cylinder lasts her over a year. We are just heading out to cut more wood now. Great thing is it warms you when you cut it, when you split it and when you burn it. Don’t forget the extra cleaning up and disposal of ashes.
