    Hi nursery,

Call me stoopid but I don't get your BHP analogy. They have 50 odd years of met. coal supply from their Bowen basin resources in QLD. How does this fit with the LREE v HREE theme?

Whilst the 'lighter' deposits may only have a small % amount of the heavier elements, they are generally producing (or planning to) much larger volumes than the specific 'heavier' specified resources. Therefore the smaller % component of HREE will translate to a comparable absolute volume based metric.

My rule of thumb is to discount the La & Ce to $0/tonne and then concentrate on magnet feed minerals at internal China prices, since this market is more liquid and a reflection of real supply/demand without the interference of export quotas and taxes.
