The problem is, many Greens do one useless stupid degree after another, sure they may learn something but it does not allow them to get a job, all they are doing is taking up valuable space at a university of someone that may actually want to do a degree that will help add value to the economy.
If you choose to do a stupid degree which gives you no job prospects, thats your own business and you should pay for it.
As someone who has come through the HECS system the money that you have to pay back is at very nominal interest rate and only kicks in once you are earning a certain amount of cash. Its an ok system.
If they abolish student debt then it gives the green light for these same people to clog our universities forever doing rubbish degrees
