I think for Australian students there should be no HECS unless you are undertaking a time wasting Arts course
We should be encouraging the gifted ones into Medicine , Science , Engineering and Geo Physics etc - not burden them with huge debts to pay off . There should also be sufficient places open to Australian students instead of a money grab for students of wealthy overseas families
Overseas students should pay the full hog and go into a ballot for available places
