    To those that suggest consider that going long or short are entirely equivalent, consider the following:

    I can buy a car

    I can sell a car that I own.

    I can sell a car that I don't own.

    I can sell YOUR car when you are not looking.

    While I can see that there is a place in the world for short-selling I do not agree with the contention that it should not be subject to any restraint or disclosure.
