George Soros got his legendary status when he shorted the U.K. Pound & some asian currencies. All he made out of the pound he lost on the Thai Baht soon aftewards. The point is, even the legends in finance can and do get it disasterously wrong. It wasn't that long ago that every financial "wizard" who could get his/her head in the media was spouting how the AU$ would/could get to parity with the US$......better to go with the flow than trying to predict it IMO.
