AugustusGloop76, in my opinion it is the CFU claims on payback that are laughable, as they do not allow for the reduced output of the stack over the 10 years they have based their calculations on. If they allowed for the degradation there would IMVHO be no payback. The laugh is on those that believe the stack will still produce 1.5kW in 1 year, 2 years, right up to the 7 years when CFU claim it will have paid back it's CAPEX.

Whether the stack is replaced 'under guarantee' is not the point, although it does indicate CFU will already have at least 268 stacks to replace in 6-7 years time at no cost to the owners! How much is CFU going to lose in the future on the cost of replacing these stacks under guarantee? One thing I am also certain about, is that CFU staff will be far busier in 6-7 years than they are right now just on replacing degraded stacks!

My figures are the figures that CFU and their distributors SHOULD have used for the BG. Currently the CFU figures include €6,730.63 worth of BG generated electricity that the buyer will not get if the unit degrades at the rate CFU have stated.
