It's a good point you make that STO's stake in ESG could just be an " investment ". Other companies have done things like this before and indeed STO made a nice little profit out of it's investment in QGC as did AOE in Pure etc.
In this case though , I think it's different because of the proximity of the STO tenements to ESG's. If you look at the STO investor presentation ( 4/3/10 slide 18 ) you will see a nice little map of both companies tenements. As they say , ' a picture is worth a thousand words '.
Not to mention that allegedly , Pel 238 has the better coals compared to the neighbours.
