hello pirate...yes i live bayside as well..this is not a problem...go to bunnings...which fortunately i am a shareholder...you spend aprrox..40-50 dollars per tree and buy a special plastic..which you climb up a ladder and nail to the tree, which then the possums cant climb over ...and wow..tree is saved..had to do the same with my gum tree.... hope that this is some help to you... have a busy weekend...
