Ppeter here hoping you all had a merry Christmas and are looking forward to 2013.

Unfortunately I have terminal cancer and had a bad week before Christmas.

Hence I am hoping that someone will take over and pursue our request for IMMEDIATE approval in Australia.

The people who can make it happen are the Ministers

1 Diabetes is a big concern for Australians and Australia's health system. Avoiding unnecessary hospitalisations, procedures such as amputations, and long periods of disability due to preventable causes, are  priorities for Government  and are in the best interest of consumers.

Minister Plibersek's address is below.  You might also wish to bring this to the attention of Minister Butler who is the Minister for Ageing, as it sounds as though these health conditions are an issue also for the elderly population in residential care.  Catherine King is the Parliamentary Secretary with direct responsibility for the TGA, so I'd include a letter to her also .

The Hon Tanya Plibersek MP - Minister for Health
    Parliament House, CANBERRA  ACT  2600

The Hon Mark Butler MP - Minister for Mental Health and Ageing
    Parliament House
    CANBERRA  ACT  2600

The Hon Catherine King MP - Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Ageing
    Parliament House
    CANBERRA  ACT  2600

It doesn't always yield direct results, but I think it is a good idea to bring concerns to relevant Ministers.
Remember our main aim is to reduce suffering

Here is my concept for the letter

1 The significant of TIS's VitroGro© ECM – no one else can cure a large number of leg ulcers as VitroGro© ECM with no known side effects.

Picture before from TIS? Picture after from TIS?

2 BSI spent 18 months investigating VitroGro© ECM for CE Mark approval, enabling sales in Europe

3 On the 16th July 2012 the ASX announced that the requirements for CE Mark approval of TIS's initial product, VitroGro© ECM have been satisfied and that formal approval was expected shortly.

4 A few weeks later BSI decided they were unsure of the respective category, and decided to ask MHRA which would take up to 30 days. 90 days later MHRA announced they needed to check with EMA for which 6 months was allowed for the application and 210 days for EMA's decision.

5 Australia alone has 4000 amputations due to non-healing diabetic per year with one every 20 seconds globally (source: www.woundcrc.com). Picture of an amputee.

6 We believe that Australia should, based on the BSI testing, approve VitroGro© ECM for IMMEDIATE USE IN AUSTRALIA. OUR MAIN JUSTIFICATION IS TO MINIMISE THE OBVIOUS SUFFERING IN THE PROTRACTED SENARIO DESCRIBED ABOVE AND ALSO TO REDUCE THE DEMANDS ON AUSTRALIA'S MEDICAL FUNDS, STAFF AND RECOURCES.

7 We believe that based on the results of BSI a trial of say 10000 patients in Australia should begin IMMEDIATLEY. This gives TGA a review point to consider progress. Patients could also be asked to sign a release form if this would help.

We should also ask the diabetic association for their support. And ask the young ones to socialise the letter and message
