You may think that they are trying to do good, however some (like myself and sifer) may find it entirely offensive. I'm also sure that a very large number of parents in Australia , not affiliated with organised religion, would find it quite noxious too.
If people want to find their way to religious ideas then there are means to achieve this, including religious schools.
