Awesome to learn these things. That they complicate modern vehicles to such an extent, vehicles that are used in remote areas, I reckon is wrong. Could cost a life. Landcruiser & Hilux diesels up to 1989 were easy as to get running in the bush, less one threw a leg through the block. Then came more & more electrics, electronics, chips, computers...and you are stuffed without a mobile workshop. There is not a single easy to work on 4 x4 on the market today.
