Firstly you are right - it is not for everyone. I would highly recommend starting with a practice account, there are plenty of providers out there and you should have full functionality at no cost.
There is nothing like actually doing it though, and it is completely different with your own, real, money.
I wouldn't pay for a course. There is so much info out there, and so many free online resources, that I don't think it is necessary.
A mentor or trading buddy would be invaluable. Someone to keep you in line and smack you about the head before you lose all your money.
