Do you guys know how much BHP and RIO the likes of BNP and Societie de Generale have under their guidance via their skillful wholesale structuring of warrants in these stocks all through the late 90s and upto today.
They under wrote billions and billions and sold them into the wholesale funds market and retail heavy weight advisors - who onsold.
Lending money (Euros) to Aussie investors to leverage into major resource plays whilst maintaining ownership of the balance sheet value of the holdings to leverage into physical ownership of the companies. Now thats intelligent investment banking - you want to know why MQG has a limited corporate presence its because they werent smart enough and were originally set up by accountants who scored an easy banking license a quater of a decade ago.
I think investment banking has been too hard for them!
