You sound desperate and vague all in one.
If you are talking about the date listings in the X-Axis Tab under the Format pulldown (got all that), then you need to click the "tick" not the "cross" after changing the required date.
If this doesn't work then I suggest that you don't have any data past date that seems to be the sticking point.
Second problem is more serious than the first.
