- Because it's in the front page of the news and a good chance to promote to the public that the government is doing a "good job" taking care of crime

- Exactly... the public loves to complain that businesses and the rich are always ripping them (consumers) off....
- The public servants are in an environment where money spent to pay their wages does not go by KPI... they work to their own time to do their "job", in a very "overworked" environment, at the cost of taxpayers money and complain they are never getting enough.....

SGR's situation is just a perfect scenario the keep all the above running... kind of like the blind leading the blind
